Updating tomtom one 140
I have a very powerful Mac and high speed broadband internet yet downloads and installations are slow, in the order of one to two hours.Because of this, I doubt I would buy a Tom Tom again.
I love the functionality of the device, always there, always accurate, reasonably easy to use. The biggest problem is updates take forever if I can get them to work at all.late last night I turned n my computer and Tom Tom told me I had One update went ahead let it install?all night it sat looting for satellites, never fond one. 1 update installed an hour ago yes you got it still no satellites. Why when I read round the forums are so many people complaining about UPDa TEs? tom-tom gave me option of a 25% discount on a TT6100 which I was thinking about but as the top of the range TT I read so many people having all kinds of trouble with why would I buy one? Cant seem to do any thing to change any setting to force an update can't go back wards so what can't I do?If not, I will follow what other people on the site mentioned and contact Tom Tom's customer service directly. I have spent over $1,000 on their devices over the years as I have a small delivery business. Please join our friendly community by clicking the button below - it only takes a few seconds and is totally free.
It's pretty nuts that it's USB1.0, and that adds several more hours to the wait time.
They are complete junk now and I will never buy another one.
I bought several of them months ago and not one of them works now, updates won't upload, and I can't get a response from customer service. I have owned and used my Tom Tom GPS for about seven years.
When they were the only product available they seem to work really good many years ago.
However, as more and more competition has entered the market, their sales and profits have probably dropped, and so has their budget on customer support, updates, and upgrades.
Tom Tom actually sent out an e-mail to inform me of this event and update.
